Brauner Valvet tube microphone - matched pair

The Brauner Valvet tube microphone is one of the absolute top microphones in its class, the modern large-diaphragm tube microphone.

From the manufacturer's side: Brauner microphones are characterized by high-quality, finely tuned components, excellent dynamics and extremely low inherent noise. So does the Valvet, a tube microphone based on the already legendary VM1, which has its own, finely tuned character. The objective with the Valvet was to develop a tube microphone which, thanks to its compact design and the newly developed microphone spider, is ideal as a soloist microphone and makes high-quality recording results possible even under difficult acoustic conditions. With its directional characteristic, which tends slightly towards hypercardioid, and strong rear damping, it reduces disruptive room influences. With an omnidirectional characteristic, it is nevertheless the perfect room microphone. In 1999, the Valvet received the SSAIR Award for best microphone in its category, as had the VM1 the year before. It gives recordings a pleasant closeness and warmth. The Valvet has two polar patterns, omnidirectional and cardioid, as well as a rotary phase switch for adapting to non-standard preamplifiers.
