Rare Vintage Tube Mono Mixer Complete Package 1954 – 6-in-1 Channel, Fully Functional, with Spare Parts & Original Schematics

2x exclusive tube mono mixer set from the 1950s – two identical 6-in-1 mono mixers featuring high-quality tube technology, UTC transformers, and durable copper rotary switches. Fully functional, including hand-drawn schematics and an extensive spare parts package. Perfect for vintage audio enthusiasts and custom tube mixer projects.

For sale is a rare vintage tube mono mixer complete package from 1954 – a true highlight for collectors, audio enthusiasts, and studio engineers focused on historic broadcast technology and tube amplification. The set comprises two fully functional 6-in-1 mono mixers using tube technology (EF40, 9001, 6AK6), equipped with high-quality UTC transformers and precise, durable copper rotary switches – components that are scarcely available today and deliver excellent sound quality.

Additionally, the package includes one almost complete spare unit and original hand-drawn schematics – ideal for maintenance, repair, and individual customization. Thanks to its modular design, a custom 12-in-2 stereo tube mixer can be realized with minimal effort. The individual cases contain power supply, power amplifier, speaker, as well as the control panel with knobs and VU meter – a ready-to-use 2×6-in-1 channel setup for authentic vintage sound. We are happy to advise you on options for expanding this mixer system.

We also have more of these extremely high-quality Painton rotary switches, as well as matching faders from EMI tube mixers used in the Abbey Road Studios. Combinations with Eckmiller filters (e.g., W86a) and faders or TAB W95c are also conceivable.Only about 10 to 20 examples of these exclusive tube mixers were built for the Belgian Broadcasting Corporation; most have long since been lost. The original schematics date from 1954. At that time, the V72/V76 technology was being developed in Germany. The quality of the components used in this mixer is comparable to that technology. The oversized rotary switches with thick copper cores, the tubes used, and the UTC transformers are of the highest quality. This complete package is thus a rare opportunity to acquire a true one-of-a-kind and a piece of broadcast history.

Serious inquiries welcome. This is a professional device from the golden era of European broadcast manufacturing—a rare gem for collectors, engineers, and vintage audio enthusiasts alike.

Offered here is an exceptionally rare piece of European broadcast engineering: the ELA 62-02 portable mixer, designed by Siemens Auso and distributed by Italtel S.p.A. in Italy. Much like the renowned WSW (Austria) and Siemens Sitral (Germany) series, the Auso units were built to uncompromising broadcast standards—yet remained largely unknown outside of Italy.

This mixer is entirely discrete, built with silicon transistors and fiberglass PCBs, employing gold-plated connectors throughout. It was originally developed for outside broadcasting—such as live sportscasts or mobile recording—and includes internal and external 12V DC battery options as well as 220V mains power operation.

Modular High-End Architecture – Six Fully Isolated Mic Preamps

What sets this unit apart:

Six independent microphone input channels (M1–M6), each equipped with:

A dedicated input transformer

A stepped gain selector

Full discrete transistor signal path

Inputs M1–M4 feature XLR-type connectors for low-level signals; inputs M5 and M6 are accessed via jack or Tuchel.

Thanks to its modular structure and transformer-balanced design, the ELA 62-02 offers a rare opportunity:

→ With minor modification, it can be converted into a world-class 6-channel microphone preamp, providing the same sonic quality and dynamic behavior as known from WSW or Siemens Sitral V276 preamps. Perfect for studio integration.

Technical Summary:

Gain range: Stepped adjustment +52 dB

Output level: Up to +24 dB with 600 Ω load

Frequency response: 40 Hz to 15 kHz (±1 dB)

Noise floor: –15 dB referenced to input

Distortion: < 0.5 % at nominal output

Power options: 220V AC / 12V DC / internal rechargeable battery

Dimensions: 48 × 36 × 22 cm – Weight: ~20 kg

Condition & Use

The unit is in excellent vintage condition, unmodified, and fully intact. As-is, it serves as a collector’s piece, a reference for vintage broadcast engineering, or a restoration base. With professional adaptation, it becomes a high-end multi-channel mic preamp suitable for demanding studio environments.

A second, identical unit may be available on request (not included in this listing).

Serious inquiries welcome. This is a professional device from the golden era of European broadcast manufacturing—a rare gem for collectors, engineers, and vintage audio enthusiasts alike.

eab Geiling V65c tube mixing console from 1954 - now refurbished

We initially offered this console as defective, but have now restored and fully overhauled it through meticulous detailed work. The input transformers were faulty and have been replaced with vintage NOS 1:15 transformers in professional broadcast quality. To preserve originality, they were mounted inside the original Mu-metal housings. From the outside, nothing is noticeable and hardly anyone would detect it – however, we do not wish to conceal this modification. Technically and sonically, the performance has not deteriorated but rather improved. All electrolytic capacitors were replaced, all faults repaired. Only the oscillator was not put back into operation, as 99% of potential buyers would never use it anyway.

Save worldwide shipping in a wooden box from 1954... See pics.

The portable V65 mixing console (Übertragungsverstärker) was introduced in 1950. Later developments included the V65a (1952), V65b (1954), and V65c (1956). Even in the mid-1980s, EAB Geiling continued manufacturing tone-mixing systems in rod technology for ARD-ZDF. The V65c is a portable 6-channel studio mixer with master level control and modulation meter, built in solid tube technology. Output level options: 6, 12, or 15 dBu. Built-in test tone generator and interval signal generator. Power supply can also be battery-operated independently of the mains.

The six microphone inputs feature switchable 0dB/20dB input attenuation and provide a total gain of over 80dB ±2dB when routed to the master sum.

In a modern studio environment, this 6:1 mono mixer can serve as a very high-quality and exceptionally good-sounding microphone preamp. Depending on whether one takes the signal directly from the channel or via the master bus, the sound character changes. Each channel uses one EF86 tube. Thanks to the 0/20dB input switching, both dynamic and condenser microphones can be connected. The six channels then feed into a main amplifier built in three stages (3x EF86). Between the first and second stage sits the linear fader as master level control. The second and third tube stages amplify the signal using voltage feedback. Behind the output transformer, the signal sits at +12dB. An additional downstream transformer distributes the output and adapts it to +6dB, +12dB, or +15dB.

Dimensions (case): 470 x 480 x 210 mm
Weight: 32 kg
