About the Studer 961 Series
The portable mixing consoles of the STUDER 961 / 962 series are a technical evolution of the renowned 169 and 269 models. Designed to meet the increasing demands of digital audio (PCM), these consoles offer significantly improved dynamic range and reduced noise.
Key improvements include modern FET switching technology for improved signal-to-noise ratio, electronically balanced insert points to reduce hum, and newly developed microphone input stages that combine the advantages of transformer-coupled and transformerless designs. Additionally, a new summing module with a limiter/compressor in advanced PDM (pulse duration modulation) technology was introduced.
Typical Features of the Studer 961 / 962 Consoles
- Mic/Line inputs with transformers – optionally with high-level or stereo input modules
- 3-band equalizers for bass, mid and high frequencies
- 2 AUX paths with flexible routing
- Summing module with output limiter (PDM-based)
- Level metering via peak meters or VU meters
- Optional accessories: video interface, flight cases, desktop frames, and more
