Merging Technologies Sphynx 2 | 8-Channel AD/DA Converter | AES/EBU, DSD and DXD

Offered for sale is a Merging Technologies Sphynx 2, a professional modular multichannel converter jointly developed with Digital Audio Denmark.

The unit is equipped with eight analog inputs, two D/A modules providing a total of eight analog outputs, and an eight-channel AES/EBU interface. All analog connections are balanced and use XLR connectors.

The Sphynx 2 supports PCM sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz as well as DSD64, DSD128, and the high-resolution 24-bit/352.8 kHz DXD format. Word clock input and output, video synchronization, and AES11 sync allow integration into professional studio and mastering systems.

The configuration includes:

• Eight analog inputs

• Eight analog outputs

• Eight-channel AES/EBU input and output via D-Sub

• Word clock input and output

• Video and AES11 synchronization

• RS-422 interface for remote control

• Support for PCM, DSD, and DXD

• 19-inch 2U rackmount enclosure

Configuration and control are performed using the DADman software or within a suitable Merging/Pyramix environment. Due to the age of the system, compatibility with the intended hardware and software environment should be checked before purchase. A modern network or USB audio interface is not integrated.
