History:
The W295a equalizer is a real vintage classic. Developed by Siemens in the 1960´s he is the direct successor of the older passive Eckmillers and TAB W95c eq´s. The Siemens Sitral modules like the W295/a/b, the V276/a/b and the U273 limiters were the first transitorized modules in the vintage german broadcast era. Today they are rare and very hard to find. 

Design:
The Siemens W295a is a transformer-balanced, fully discrete 3-band eq in class-A quality. It is the first successor of the earlier Siemens Sitral W295 equalizer and the hi- and low bands sound very similar to the first version. 
The 10kHz hi-band and the 60Hz low-band can be cut or boosted by ±15dB. The mid band is a special tilt-eq.

Sound:
Most people love the W295a for it´s tight bass and silky smooth high frequency. It somehow always sounds good in the mix.
