The portable mixer (transmission amplifier) V65 was introduced in 1950. Further developments of this were V65a (1952), V65b (1954), V65c (1956). In the mid-1980s, EAB Geiling was still producing pro audio equipment for the german broadcasting stations. The V65c is a portable 6-channel studio mixer with master control and level meter in solid tube technology. Output levels can be +6, +12 or +15 dBu. Built-in level tone generator and pause signal generator. Power supply can also be independently of the mains via batteries or rechargeable batteries.

In a modern studio environment, this vintage tube 6: 1 channel mono mixer can be used as a very high quality and extremely good sounding microphone preamplifier. The sound is different depending on whether it taps directly from the channel or goes beyond the sum. One EF86 tube is installed per channel. Thanks to the 0 / 20dB switch, both dynamic and condenser microphones can be connected. The six tube microphone channels can then be routed onto a main amplifier, which is built up in three stages (3x EF86). between the 1st and 2nd stage sits the level control master fader. The 2nd and 3rd stage tubes amplify this signal by means of negative voltage feedback. + 12dB are present behind the output transformer. Another downstream transformer distributes the output signal and adjusts it to + 6dB, + 12dB or + 15dB.
