About our VT7x(L)-Racks: All of our racks were scatched and manufactured after the highest claims of quality. The VT7x(L)-Racks racks are made for the professional rackmount of one or two vintage german tube preamplifiers from the famous 1950´s V7x series. After WW2 manufacturers such as Maihak, Telefunken, TAB and Siemens built various tube preamps which followed the original 1949 V72 design.
Our VT7x-racks (2ru) are the perfect new enclosure for any V72, V72a, V72b, V74, V77 or V78 tube mic preamp module. They are all more or less the same size, but some modification of the internal frames and gain control make it nessesairy to individually build each rack. We offer two versions of gain switches. One with 0-32dB of gain for the classic V72 amp and one with 40dB for the V72a/b and also the V77. The V77 can also get a second gain control via toggle switch on the back of the rack. This can set the general amplification of the V77 to 40, 50 or 60dB. Please allow 2-4 weeks build time for the manufacturing process. Also it is best to send in your modules, so we can test them and put them in the rack for you, since we also offer service for the modules you send in for racking. If that is not possible, we can send you a rack prepared for your modules too.
Our VT7xL-racks (4ru) are the perfect new enclosure for any V76, V76M, V76F, U73, U73b or U83 module from the brands Maihak, TAB, Telefunken and Siemens. Mechanically, these are largely compatible, but depending on the module, different front panels and innards are installed. Since the V103 summing amplifiers require more than one input and output, a completely different housing is used. Please take a look at what modifications we offer for these modules. These include, among other things, removing the broadcast filter (40Hz and 15kHz), additional attack and release times for U73 compressors, treshhold, input and output gain/PAD, mono/stereo switching, bass filter for the compressor, etc. Since each of these cassettes weighs over 6kg, We have also built the rack housing to be very stable. Thanks to a well-thought-out design and several internal subframes, the modules are firmly seated in the VT7xL and can easily withstand worldwide shipping.
The VT7x(L) rack for tube modules is only available at vintagetools. If an equipped rack is currently not available, please send us an inquiry. We have several customers who sometimes sell V72, V76, U73, V77, etc. and can broker those modules.
