We know from experience that in many public radio and television stations there is no firm responsibility for the area, separation. If they do, there is often little, mostly uninteresting, discarded equipment in these stores. There are multiple reasons for that:

• The various project planners are not aware of the existence of the separation camp or they fear the associated effort
• The removal and transport of a permanently installed device is too complex. Scrapping is easier.
• Fear of possible warranty claims by the buyers.
• Expansion, relocation, valuation, i.e. the total personnel costs for the recycling chain are too high.
• Cash receipts cannot be posted where waste disposal costs should actually arise.

The discarded material often goes either directly or only after a detour via various interim storage facilities in the house into the trash. Often the equipment sits unused in storage until it is no longer worth anything. The decline in value, particularly in the field of digital technology, is progressing very quickly.

In the past years, we have bought over 20 OB vans from various broadcasters, cleared several studios and warehouses, and supplied various customers worldwide with our partly overhauled and partly newly developed devices.
